An Oakland based Software Company is seeking a skilled JAVA ARCHITECT. This team will be apart of new product development for Supply Chain execution. The project will be executed in a small team responsible for all aspects of the product, from definition to quality assurance and deployment.
This person will lead, together with the Director of Engineering to pioneer best engineering practices, lead the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies and mentor other members of the technical team.

Technical leadership of the architecture of the product, defining and establishing the design patterns for the product. Technology and tools evaluation against product requirements. Interact with the Product Manager to refine the functional specifications for the products. Interact with the Director of development to understand priorities and assign tasks. Design and document system architecture, design patterns and module interfaces and internal mechanisms to meet the specifications. Detailed Design, Implement and Unit test in a Java/J2EE environment. Provide feedback to engineering management on the effectiveness and improvement opportunities of software engineering practices.

Must have 7+ years professional engineering experience. 7 year of experience with Java programming, server side: Servlets, J2EE. Expertise in Oracle 10g deployed in a Java environment. Expertise in Data Warehousing, experience with OLAP tools a plus. Experience with Spring, JBOSS and other application containers, Hibernate and SQL, in particular Oracle 10g. Swing, Web interface technologies (Tapestry, Ajax). Network Services: JMS, LDAP, SOAP, UDDI, WSDL. Windows NT and UNIX development environments with Eclipse. Experience in Structured OO methodology (e.g. UML) (3-5 years) and Software engineering practices (familiarity with the Capability and Maturity Model preferred).
