Description:
A pioneering educational software company is seeking a Senior Java Developer. This East Bay company integrates cutting-edge neuroscience with Internet and multimedia software. This position is ideal for candidates with strong Java and Web development skills wishing to work with the latest Java technologies and programming techniques.


The senior software engineer will be responsible for evaluating and recommending software and hardware architecture solutions within the scope of assigned projects. Actively participate in the software design process and software prototypes relevant to assigned programming tasks. As well as serve as a technical lead on assigned projects. Its essential to write well-documented, extensible software code that is easy to maintain, and that adheres to generally accepted programming standards and OOP practices.

Requirements:
*8+ years programming experience with at least 4 years programming in Java.
* Extensive hands-on experience with SQL and Java relational database methodologies.
* Demonstrated expertise in J2EE, and distributed computing.
* Proficiency with XML/XSL and related Java XML technologies(i.e.,Xerces, Xalan)
* BA Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Additional Desirable Skills(not must haves):
*Previous experience with Java-based web published frameworks such as Struts and Cocoon.
*Direct experience deploying web applications within the JBoss application server.
*Experience using SOAP/Glue, Cocoon, JBoss or other Java application servers.
*Programming experience with Hibernate persistence framework.
